Supreme Court Heightens Protections for Religious Accommodations

On June 29, 2023, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a decision in Groff v. Dejoy, holding that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act requires employers that wish to deny religious accommodations to show that any accommodations would substantially increase business costs.
